Dallin participated in his LAST Pinewood Derby in January (you can't see the big smile on my face, but it's there!). His car is the one on the far left. It is a USA car, in honor of the Winter Olympics that started in February. Sydney was his best cheerleader! Go Dallin!

Pinewood Derby
Dallin participated in his LAST Pinewood Derby in January (you can't see the big smile on my face, but it's there!). His car is the one on the far left. It is a USA car, in honor of the Winter Olympics that started in February. Sydney was his best cheerleader! Go Dallin!
Landon watches TV....YES!
I know I shouldn't be excited about my 2 year old watching TV, but honestly, we've been practicing. Sometimes I just need 15-20 minutes to get something done and the TV is my best friend. He is into Elmo (as you can see by the Elmo doll and book) and so I bought an Elmo video! Smart thinking mom....now I can actually get a thing or two done! This picture actually looks like I might have given him a dose of Benadryl of something, but I swear I didn't. He is just really mesmerized by Elmo!
Family Home Evening
Our kids love to teach Family Home Evening on Monday nights. This is a night we try and do something together as a family. We usually have some kind of lesson, in which the kids and Eric and I take turns teaching. This one was on New Years Resolutions as a Family! Syd was in charge and loves to use a whiteboard!
My pride and joy painting
Isn't this incredible? I get to look at this everyday and smile. I know I have the originals living in my house, but this painting doesn't talk back, fight or whine. It is truly one of my favorite material possessions. It was painted by a dear friend and incredible artist, Simini Blocker. Can you believe she doesn't even enjoy doing this type of work? I wish I was as good at things I don't like. Since many of you won't get to come to my house, I thought I'd put a picture in my blog. A picture of this painting doesn't really do it justice! My kids personalities and mannerisms seriously come to life!
I decided to put in some other pictures from around my house. Since I do this blog so that I can "journal" our year by printing all these entries into a book at the end of the year, I thought it would be fun to have some pics of the house. Actually I took most of these because we were getting ready to repaint and I wanted to be able to remember how things were on the wall.
Here are some photos of our house last Christmas season.
Seriously NOT fair!
Okay, why is it that my kids eye color changes around 2 years old? Seriously! All I ask for is one blue eyed child, and out of 4 I don't think that is too much to ask for! Hailey, Dallin and Landon all were born with really blue eyes. Hailey's are now a golden/yellow brown, Dallin's are green (sometimes can look blue depending on what color he wears) and Sydney was always brown. Here is a picture of Landon, however those beautiful blue eyes are now turning more and more green! Check back in about a 6 mo. to a year to find out what color they will stay???
